Systems/Network Engineer

Position Summary: 

ActionLink is seeking a Network Engineer/ Technical Support Administrator to support and maintain our Local and Wide Area Network to meet ActionLink’s business goals. The work includes maintaining operation, support and troubleshooting of a multi-site network in all areas of networking including LAN, WAN, Remote Access and Enterprise-wide Microsoft Network operating system solutions; keeping abreast of the latest technologies and solutions; need a thorough understanding of Active Directory, DNS, Microsoft Operating Systems, VMware, IP routing, SSL, VPN, Email routing and filtering and Spam management; providing proactive management, setup & configuration of variety of network devices that includes Cisco routers and switches, performing system management functions; testing and deploying system updates and security patches; supporting and maintaining backup solution for Microsoft systems and optimizing the available resources through management of backup jobs, bandwidth and hardware devices; documenting operating procedures;

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain network resources including workstations, printers, and network equipment
  • Determine, evaluate and diagnose network and applications performance issues
  • Provide help desk support to a variety of clients
  • Install software applications and updates
  • Maintain network security and virus protection
  • Develop and maintain network documentation
  • Review and respond to automated monitoring alerts for our managed services clients

Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 to 7 years of experience implementing and maintaining a large-scale enterprise network environment
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, Remote Desktop, Windows Desktop, Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 preferred
  • Proven troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to talk about technology in non-technical terms
  • Have the focus and passion to always follow through with network support needs
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certification / MCSE and cisco certifications are desired.
  • Cisco phone switch experience desired
